Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 18: Following the interrogation of BJD MLA Dipali Das’ brother Bishal, officials from the Income Tax department conducted a raid at the residence of his personal assistant in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Saturday. It’s reported that at least two teams of Income Tax officials carried out the search operation at the residence of Asish Das in the Kolabira area.
The raid persisted after Income Tax officials from Rourkela, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Bhubaneswar questioned Bishal Das at a hotel in Jharsuguda for approximately five hours.
Bishal’s sister Dipali is contesting from the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency as a candidate of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the 2024 elections.
Over 15 officials from the Income Tax department conducted raids and interrogated Bishal and some other family members. Office employees and businessmen associated with her family were also reportedly questioned by the Income Tax officials on Friday, while Bishal underwent interrogation at a private hotel in Jharsuguda.
After five hours of questioning, Bishal was released by the Income Tax team.
