IAS Probationers Gain Firsthand Exposure to Urban Governance in Odisha
The Housing and Urban Development Department organised an intensive exposure program for IAS probationers, blending policy discussions with field visits to key urban infrastructure projects.
During interactions with Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee and District Magistrate Arindam Dakua, probationers learned about flagship schemes, administrative coordination, and challenges in implementing urban policies.
Field visits included affordable housing projects under PMAY at Buddha Vihar, the Urban Academy, a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP), and a Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
These visits offered practical insights into sanitation, housing, and water supply systems.
The initiative aimed to strengthen probationers’ understanding of urban governance and prepare them for future administrative responsibilities.
