Heavy rainfall forecasted across Odisha till July 16, IMD issues alerts

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), July 12: Odisha is expected to witness continued heavy to very heavy rainfall until July 16, as forecasted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday. The weather agency has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts on July 12, with possible thunderstorms and lightning in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar.
Bhubaneswar and Puri may experience cloudy skies with occasional spells of rain or thundershowers.
On July 13, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts. The rainfall intensity may persist on July 14 in places like Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi.
The IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Koraput on July 15, with potential heavy rain in Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nabarangpur districts.
By July 16, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Gajapati, Ganjam, and Nayagarh districts, along with heavy rain in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Kandhamal.
While no further weather warnings have been issued, light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur across many places in the state during the subsequent two days.
