Global Visa Application Centre to Open in Bhubaneswar, Ending Long Wait for Odisha Residents
Bhubaneswar: In a landmark decision, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the establishment of a Global Visa Application Centre in the state capital.
The centre will operate from the Babasaheb Ambedkar Bus Terminal building in Baramunda, with 3,000 square feet of space allocated by the government.
Until now, residents of Odisha had to travel to Kolkata, Delhi, or Hyderabad to apply for international visas. The new facility will eliminate this inconvenience, offering services within Bhubaneswar itself.
The move comes in response to years of public demand for a visa centre in Odisha.
The Chief Minister described the project as a significant step toward improving accessibility and convenience for travellers, positioning Bhubaneswar as a growing hub for international connectivity.
Officials believe the centre will not only ease travel for citizens but also boost Odisha’s profile as a destination for global engagement.
