Four Arrested in Boudh Murder Case Within 24 Hours

Kantamal police in Boudh district swiftly solved the murder of Kaibalya Pradhan, whose mutilated body was discovered on the Jogindrapur–Damamunda road on December 7.

Acting immediately, officers deployed sniffer dogs and a scientific team to investigate the crime scene.

Within hours, police tracked down four suspects — Umesh Salma (24), Ajit Bag (21), Radhakant Bhoi (24), and Ramakant Salma — all from nearby villages. The accused confessed to attacking Pradhan with stones, citing previous enmity as the motive.

Investigators seized weapons, a bike, clothing, and mobile phones used in the crime. Despite attempts by the suspects to destroy evidence, crucial items were recovered within 12 hours.

A crime scene recreation was conducted in the presence of senior officials, including Boudh SDPO Loren Raut Ray and Kantamal police station officer Sasmita Magar.

Boudh SP Rahul Goyal confirmed in a press briefing that the accused have been produced in court, marking a swift resolution to the case.
