Flood Fury: Jajpur Shuts 313 Schools for Safety
The Jajpur district administration has ordered the suspension of classes in 313 schools across eight flood‑affected blocks as heavy rains and waterlogging continue to disrupt normal life.
The directive, issued by the District Education Office under the Collector’s instructions, covers government, government‑aided, and private institutions at the elementary, secondary, and higher secondary levels.
The affected blocks include Bari, Dasarathpur, Binjharpur, Rasulpur, Korei, Dharmasala, Jajpur, and Badchana.
While academic activities remain halted, school buildings will stay open to serve as shelters and relief centres for rescue and rehabilitation operations.
Officials have forwarded the order to Block Education Officers, school heads, and the School & Mass Education Department to ensure immediate implementation.
Schools outside the flood‑hit areas continue to function normally.
This precautionary measure aims to safeguard students while mobilising school infrastructure to support flood relief efforts.
