Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur Declared Tax-Free in Delhi, Honoring Rezang La Heroes
The Delhi Government has announced that Farhan Akhtar’s war drama 120 Bahadur will be tax-free in the national capital from November 28, 2025.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the move as a tribute to the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought valiantly during the Battle of Rezang La in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
The film, directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Excel Entertainment, stars Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led one of the most legendary last stands in military history.
Outnumbered 1:20, the Indian soldiers fought against over 2,000 Chinese troops, a battle remembered for unmatched bravery.
Gupta emphasised that the story continues to symbolise India’s military valour, adding that the tax-free status is a mark of respect to the soldiers.
The film has also drawn praise from political leaders, including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who called it “a good film with a good message.” Farhan Akhtar responded warmly, thanking him on behalf of the team.
Despite strong critical appreciation, 120 Bahadur has recorded modest box-office earnings, collecting around Rs 15 crore net in its first week. Alongside Akhtar, the film features Raashii Khanna, Vivan Bhatena, and Ankit Siwach in pivotal roles.
