Explosion in Mayurbhanj kills cracker merchant

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), June 22: A tragic incident occurred in Mahulapatna village under Baisinga police station in Mayurbhanj district, resulting in the death of a cracker businessman due to an explosion in a storage facility on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Badal alias Khageswar Palei (56), was reportedly selling crackers when the explosion happened in a makeshift structure containing crackers, gunpowder, and other explosive materials.
Khageswar lost his life instantly in the blast, which was powerful enough to shake the entire village. Upon hearing the explosion, locals rushed to the scene and discovered Khageswar’s partially burnt body amidst the debris of the damaged temporary structure.
Baisinga police responded promptly, initiating an investigation into the incident. The body has been taken for post-mortem examination as part of further proceedings.
