Electrocution Tragedy in Keonjhar: Man Dies Saving Niece, Two Critical
Keonjhar, (OT Webdesk)— A heart-wrenching tragedy struck Chinamali Tondia Sahi in Patna block of Keonjhar district when a man lost his life trying to save his niece from electrocution.
The incident occurred as young Anjali Behera came into contact with a live wire while drying clothes. Her uncle, Duhsasan Behera, rushed to her aid but was also electrocuted.
In a final act of courage, another uncle, Duryodhan Behera, attempted to rescue both and was rendered unconscious by the shock.
All three were immediately taken to Patna Group Health Centre. Doctors declared Duryodhan dead on arrival, while Anjali and Duhsasan remain in critical condition under intensive care.
Local police conducted an autopsy and handed over the body to the grieving family. The incident has plunged the community into mourning and reignited concerns over electrical safety in rural Odisha.
