Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Feb 7: In a shocking daylight robbery, unidentified miscreants allegedly snatched ₹2.55 lakh from an employee of a security agency in the Infocity area of Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The victim, identified as Sisir Mohapatra, had withdrawn the cash from the State Bank of India’s Infocity branch and returned to his office in the same locality. As he was about to enter the office after parking his two-wheeler outside, two bike-borne miscreants suddenly approached him and snatched the cash from his hands. Before Mohapatra could react, the duo sped away from the scene.
Mohapatra later revealed that he had withdrawn the money to pay for his child’s college fees but lost his hard-earned savings to the robbers.
Following a complaint, the Infocity police have launched an investigation into the incident. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits. Police suspect the criminals might have been tracking the victim from the bank before executing the robbery. Efforts are underway to nab the accused at the earliest.
