Cycle Rally in Barbil Promotes Child Marriage Free Bharat

Barbil: In a determined effort to eradicate the social evil of child marriage, the Barbil Taluk Legal Services Committee launched a powerful awareness campaign under the banner of “Child Marriage Free India.” The initiative was spearheaded by Committee President and JMFC – l Magistrate Mallika Goenka, who led a vibrant cycle rally through the town.

Rally Highlights
– The campaign is part of a statewide movement aimed at sensitising communities about the harmful effects of child marriage.

– Students of Barbil Industrial Training Institute (ITI), all above 18 years of age, actively participated in the rally.

– Carrying slogans and placards, the students cycled through Ward Nos. 11 and 12, spreading the message of awareness across different localities.
– The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from Magistrate Sheya Satapathy, JMFC – II, several advocates, legal services staff, members of women’s committees, ITI instructors, and local residents—both men and women.

Message to Society
The campaign emphasised that child marriage not only violates children’s rights but also hinders social progress.

By uniting legal authorities, educational institutions, and the community, the rally showcased a collective resolve to build a safer, more progressive future free from child marriage.
