Cuttack to Witness Traffic Restrictions During Ram Navami Padayatra on March 27
Cuttack will experience significant traffic curbs on March 27 as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad organises a grand Padayatra to mark the Sri Ram Navami celebrations.
The procession will begin at Maruti Mandap, Choudhury Bazaar, and move through major localities including Dagarpada, Kafla Bazaar, Nayasarak, Chandini Chowk, Shelter Chhak, Kanika Chhak, Chandi Chhak, Buxi Bazaar, Barapathar, Tinikonia Bagicha, and Dargha Bazar before returning to its starting point.
To ensure the smooth movement of the Padayatra, the Commissionerate Police has announced traffic restrictions from 2 PM to 10 PM. Several connecting roads, such as Jail Road, Firingi Bazaar, Ganesh Ghat, Mission Road, Pension Lane, and Barapathar, will face partial or complete closures.
Roads like Bajrakabati Chhak–Balu Bazaar, Dolamundai Chhak–High Court, and Cambridge School–Dagarpada will remain fully closed during the event.
Emergency vehicles, including police, fire, and ambulances, will be exempt from the restrictions.
Authorities have urged citizens to plan their travel in advance, avoid affected routes, and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Padayatra.
