
Cuttack Police Trace 306 Missing Women and Children in Five-Day Anwesana Drive
(OT Webdesk)In a sweeping rescue operation titled Anwesana, the Cuttack District Police successfully traced and reunited 306 missing individuals—including 282 women and 24 children—between August 18 and 22, 2025.
Spearheaded by the Additional Superintendent of Police, IUCAW Cuttack, the drive showcased a coordinated effort across multiple police stations, leveraging field verification, community outreach, and digital tools.
Among the most poignant recoveries were a woman missing since 2016 from Kishannagar, found in Puri, and a 16-year-old girl from Banki, missing since 2021, who was safely returned to her family.
The operation underscores the department’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations and resolving long-pending cases.
The Superintendent of Police expressed gratitude to all stakeholders and reaffirmed the force’s dedication to proactive policing, public safety, and institutional transparency.
Authorities have pledged to continue such initiatives to prevent future disappearances and ensure swift action in tracing efforts.
