Coal Transport Halted After Garjanbahal Mine Clash

Sundargarh: Tension gripped the Garjanbahal coal mine under Hemgir police limits late Thursday night after a violent clash erupted between employees of two transport companies.

The dispute reportedly stemmed from priority in coal truck queues, leading to a brutal assault on several drivers.

More than four drivers, particularly from SUPL, sustained serious injuries in the attack.

The incident triggered widespread unrest among transport workers, who staged a protest at the mine gate on Friday morning.

The blockade completely halted coal transportation, disrupting operations and raising concerns over site security.

Police from Hemgir reached the spot following reports of the violence. However, no formal written complaint has been lodged yet.

The situation remains tense as authorities attempt to restore order and resume coal movement.
