CM Mohan Majhi’s Rourkela Visit: Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas & Birsa Munda Tribute

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has embarked on a two-day visit to Rourkela to mark Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.

Majhi departed from Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport at noon and reached Rourkela by 1 pm. His itinerary began with the state-level celebration at Sector-13 Parade Ground, where he addressed the gathering and highlighted Birsa Munda’s enduring contribution to India’s tribal heritage.

Later in the day, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built Circuit House at Panposh, paid floral tribute at Birsa Munda Chowk, and attended the closing ceremony of the 4th National Eklabya Model Residential School Sports Meet at Birsa Munda Athletic Stadium.

Majhi will stay overnight at Hotel May Fair before returning to Bhubaneswar tomorrow morning. His visit reflects the government’s commitment to honouring tribal icons and strengthening Odisha’s cultural pride.
