CM Majhi Flags Off Silver Jubilee Enterprise Odisha with Mega Investments

Rourkela, Jan 28: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Silver Jubilee edition of Enterprise Odisha in Rourkela, marking a milestone in the state’s industrial journey.

The event showcased Odisha’s growing stature as a hub for investment and innovation, with projects worth Rs 8,884 crore dedicated, generating 6,832 jobs.

A total of 22 MoUs worth Rs 43,349 crore were signed, promising nearly 18,985 jobs, while five investment intents worth Rs 8,677 crore added another 1,442 jobs.

Additionally, 11 projects worth Rs 5,708 crore were inaugurated, creating 4,183 jobs, and nine projects worth Rs 3,176 crore were grounded, adding 2,649 jobs.

Industry leaders from Tata Steel, JSW, Vedanta, SAIL, AMNS, Dalmia Cement, and MCL joined policymakers and entrepreneurs, reinforcing Odisha’s reputation as a preferred investment destination.

A major highlight was the allotment of 1,447.927 acres of land to Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. for its proposed 3 MTPA aluminium smelter and 4,900 MW CPP project.

With the theme “Odisha: Best Place to Live, Work and Do Business”, the event emphasised anchor industries supported by MSMEs to boost local employment.

Industries Minister underscored the government’s focus on swift delivery, skilling, and downstream expansion, aligning with the vision of Samruddha Odisha by 2036.

CM Majhi declared, “We will be the best, and we will compete with the best,” stressing that industrial growth must translate into improved living standards for citizens.
