BPUT’s 24th Foundation Day Celebrated with Grand Celebration

Rourkela  Biju Patnaik University of Technology’s 24th Foundation Day was celebrated with a grand celebration on November 21 at Netaji Subhas Auditorium.

The function was attended by many dignitaries, including faculty, officers, staff and students of the university.

The function began with the presentation of the annual report by the Registrar of the university, Mrs. Nishi Punam Minj. BPUT, which was started in 2002, has today become the largest technical university in Odisha with 145 affiliated and attached colleges.

BPUT Vice Chancellor Professor Amiya Kumar Rath highlighted the initiatives taken by the university in education, research and student-centric reforms for a developed Odisha.

The guest of honour was Dr Arya Patnaik, Chairman, RIMS Rourkela, who lauded the university for releasing the semester results within seven days and organising hackathons and project exhibitions.

Dr Patnaik expressed hope that BPUT will soon be among the top 50 universities in the country. Professor K. Umamaheswar Rao, Director, NIT Rourkela, urged the students to prepare for the challenges posed by artificial intelligence and develop multifaceted skills.

The chief guest of the 24th Foundation Day, Rourkela MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak, encouraged the students to use their college time wisely and prepare to serve the nation. Finally, Vice Chancellor Dr Suvendu Rath proposed the vote of thanks.

On this occasion, the meritorious students of the UG and PG study centres located in the university were felicitated with certificates and medals. The celebration concluded with a colourful cultural program including songs and dances by the students.
