Bolangir: Police Vehicle Collides with Motorcycle, One Dead, Another Critical

A tragic road accident in Bolangir district on Saturday night claimed one life and left another critically injured after a police vehicle collided with a motorcycle near the Bongomunda petrol pump on Bulani road.

According to reports, the motorcycle was approaching from the opposite direction when it was struck by a police vehicle belonging to Kantabanji police station.

The collision proved fatal for Muna Mahanand, a resident of Gandharla village under Sindhekela police station, who died instantly at the scene.

The second rider, Ashish Suna of Salemudga village, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Kantabanji Hospital for urgent treatment.

The police vehicle was carrying Transforce chief Panchanan Negi and driver Jayasingh Chhatriya, a home guard.

Following the accident, Bongomunda police detained the vehicle and initiated an investigation to determine responsibility and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The accident has sparked concerns about road safety and accountability, particularly involving official vehicles.
