BJD Worker’s Padayatra in Barbil Echoes Grassroots Resolve Ahead of Local Elections
Barbil — In a powerful show of grassroots mobilisation, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) launched a spirited Jan Sampark Padayatra in Barbil, led predominantly by women party workers.
The march began from Harihar Mandir, where hundreds of BJD supporters, waving party flags, set out on foot to connect with the public and reinforce the party’s pro-people legacy.

The padayatra was spearheaded by Municipal President Sanjay Naik, with prominent leadership from District President Ashish Chakraborty, MLA Representative Mohan Gupta, and Municipal Ward Councillor Devashree Giri.
The route passed through Bata Chowk and Main Market, culminating at Town Hall, where a public meeting was held.
During the gathering, senior leaders addressed the cadre, highlighting how many of BJD’s welfare schemes from its tenure are being rebranded by the current BJP government, misleading the public.

The speakers urged workers to educate voters about the original source of these schemes and expose the political repackaging.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by party workers to take this message to every household in the run-up to the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections.
Among the key participants were Sulekha Tanti, Sandhya Rani Devta, Manju Kaur, Sila Kaur, Manorama Nayak, Anju Patra, and Md. Gufran, Md. Javed, Chinmay Giri, Triloki Prasad, and Mantu Das, whose presence added strength and diversity to the campaign.
The padayatra not only energised the local cadre but also reaffirmed BJD’s commitment to inclusive leadership and transparent governance at the grassroots level.
