BJD Unveils 40-Star Campaigner Lineup for Nuapada Bypoll, Led by Naveen Patnaik
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has officially released its list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming 71-Nuapada Assembly by-election in Odisha. Spearheading the campaign is party president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, reaffirming his central role in the party’s electoral strategy.
The Election Commission of India had earlier announced the bypoll schedule, prompting major political parties to mobilize their campaign machinery. The BJD’s list includes a mix of seasoned politicians and emerging faces, ensuring broad representation across regions and communities.
Prominent names in the campaign team include Prasanna Acharya, Debi Prasad Mishra, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Niranjan Pujari, Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, and Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo. The inclusion of younger leaders such as Deepali Das, Barsa Singh Bariha, and Ipsita Sahu signals the party’s intent to blend experience with fresh energy.
Party officials stated that the campaign will focus on development narratives, welfare schemes, and the enduring leadership of Naveen Patnaik. With the bypoll necessitated by a vacancy in the Nuapada Assembly seat, the BJD, BJP, and Congress are all preparing to engage voters across the constituency.
The BJD’s strategic rollout of its campaigner list marks the beginning of an intense electoral battle in western Odisha.
