BJD Revamps Youth & Student Wings: Chinmaya Sahu, Ipsita Sahu Take Charge

(OT Webdesk)In a strategic move to bolster its grassroots engagement, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has announced key leadership changes in its youth and student wings.

On August 26, 2025, party president Naveen Patnaik appointed Chinmaya Sahu as the new President of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD), signalling a renewed focus on youth mobilisation.

Sahu will be supported by four newly appointed General Secretaries for Youth Affairs: Byomakesh Ray (Senior General Secretary), Raeindra Kumar Sahoo, Amaresh Patri, and Sanjit Mohanty.

Simultaneously, Ipsita Sahu has been named President of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), the party’s student wing. Her leadership team includes Debesh Acharya (Senior General Secretary), Dibya Ranjan Tripathy, Subhasis Khuntia, and Souvic Biswal.

These appointments reflect BJD’s commitment to nurturing young talent and injecting fresh energy into its organisational structure.
