BJD Reshuffle: Naveen Patnaik Appoints New District Leaders in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Feb 3, 2026: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik has announced a fresh round of organisational appointments aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots network across Odisha.
The order, issued from Sankha Bhawan, supersedes all previous directives and reflects the party’s renewed focus on district-level leadership.
Among the key changes:
- Byomkesh Ray has been appointed President of the Bhadrak organisational district.
- Purna Chandra Swain and Bhagaban Gantayat will serve as Working Presidents of the Ganjam organisational district.
- P. Gouri Shankar has been named Working President of the Rayagada organisational district.
- Raisen Murmu will take charge as Working President of the Mayurbhanj-2 organisational district.
The reshuffle underscores BJD’s strategy to reinforce its organisational structure and maintain its dominance in Odisha’s political landscape.
