Bhubaneswar Tightens Traffic Ahead of Independence Day Parade

(OT Webdesk)In anticipation of the State Level Independence Day Parade on August 15, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has rolled out a detailed traffic advisory to ensure public safety and smooth execution of the event on Mahatma Gandhi Marg.

Traffic restrictions will be enforced across key dates—August 11, 12, 13, and 15—with diversions affecting major junctions like Master Canteen Square, PMG Square, AG Square, and Rabindra Mandap.

All lanes leading to Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be sealed, allowing only pedestrian access during the parade.

Seven designated parking zones have been announced to ease congestion, including spots near Congress Bhawan, Jaydev Bhawan, and the BDA Bus Stand.

In a safety-first move, the release of gas balloons has been banned between PMG Square and Master Canteen Square on August 15.

Violators will face fines ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 under the Odisha Urban Police Act.

The advisory, signed by Dr. Suresh Dev Datta Singh, IPS, urges citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel and plan travel accordingly.
