Bhubaneswar Hoarding Collapse: Odisha CM Announces ₹4 Lakh Relief for Victims’ Families
Two people were killed, and several were injured after a massive hoarding collapsed in Bhubaneswar’s Aiginia area during strong winds.
The victims, Tuna Gouda and Sacchidananda Pradhan, were crushed under the structure, sparking outrage among residents.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed deep grief, extended condolences to the bereaved families, and announced Rs 4 lakh financial assistance for each victim’s kin from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Authorities confirmed the hoarding was privately installed and have launched an investigation to determine accountability.
Officials assured strict action against unsafe structures, as the incident raised wider concerns about public safety and the regulation of hoardings across the city.
