Bhadrak Man Attacks Elderly Parents Over Family Dispute
Talabandha village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district witnessed a shocking act of domestic violence when a man allegedly attacked his elderly parents following a heated argument.
The incident occurred under Chandbali police limits and has left the local community stunned.
According to initial reports, Manoj Nayak assaulted his parents—Madhusudan and Madhuri Nayak—with a sharp weapon after tensions escalated within the household. Both victims sustained critical injuries and were first rushed to Chandbali Hospital.
Due to the severity of their condition, they were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced care.
Neighbours described the episode as deeply disturbing and unexpected. Police arrived promptly at the scene, launched an investigation, and began collecting forensic evidence and witness statements.
Manoj Nayak has been identified as the prime suspect, and legal proceedings are underway.
Authorities emphasised the importance of early intervention in domestic disputes and urged families to seek counselling and mediation to prevent such tragic outcomes.
