Bhadrak Floods Shut 205 Schools, 265 Anganwadis Today

In response to worsening flood conditions across Bhadrak district, the administration has ordered the closure of 205 schools and 265 Anganwadi Centres today.

The directive, issued by the Collector, covers four blocks — Bhadrak, Tihidi, Dhamnagar, and Chandbali — where floodwaters have disrupted normal life.

Officials emphasised that the move prioritises student safety amid rising water levels and potential contamination risks.

Schools have been instructed to ensure proper sanitation of drinking water sources before reopening.

The order has been circulated to Block Education Officers, Chief District Education Officer, Sub‑Collectors, Tahsildars, BDOs, and Urban Local Body officials to ensure strict compliance.

This temporary suspension of classes highlights the administration’s proactive measures to safeguard children while restoration and relief efforts continue.
