Balanga Teen Burn Survivor Battles for Life at AIIMS Delhi

(OT Webdesk)A 16-year-old girl from Balanga, Odisha, is fighting for survival after suffering 75% burn injuries in a horrific incident on July 19.

She was airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where she underwent critical burns and plastic surgery on July 20.

According to AIIMS officials, the minor remains in critical condition, supported by oxygen, with a dedicated team of specialists monitoring her progress.

Doctors have flagged infection risks and estimate a recovery period of 50–60 days, contingent on her response to treatment.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida visited AIIMS to assess the situation and assured full government support. “No effort will be spared.

Medicines not available at AIIMS are being sourced externally,” she stated, expressing hope for the girl’s recovery with blessings from Lord Jagannath.

Former School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash also met the victim’s family and offered prayers for her swift healing.

The case has sparked widespread concern and solidarity, with citizens and leaders rallying behind the survivor’s fight for life.
