Angul, — July 28, (OT Webdesk): A devastating fire claimed the life of a 35-year-old man in Gitagram village under Angul’s Town Police Station early Monday morning.
The victim, Saroj Sahu, was reportedly alone at home following a domestic dispute that led his wife and child to leave the residence the previous day.
Neighbours noticed flames erupting from Saroj’s house around 4:00 AM and immediately alerted authorities.
Firefighters arrived by 4:30 AM and managed to douse the blaze, but Saroj had already succumbed to the inferno.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and whether foul play was involved.
The backdrop of family conflict has prompted authorities to explore both accidental and intentional scenarios.
