Ama Bus Depot Shut Down in Bhubaneswar as Trade Unions Join Nationwide Bandh
Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: Trade union workers staged a protest in the capital city today, shutting down the Ama Bus depot by locking the master canteen.
The strike was part of a nationwide bandh called by central trade unions against the new labour codes and policies they claim undermine workers’ rights.
Bus services across Bhubaneswar were disrupted, leaving commuters stranded as depot operations came to a halt.
Union leaders asserted that the agitation would continue until the government addressed their demands.
Police and administrative officials monitored the situation to prevent escalation, while the bandh also impacted banks, schools, and transport services in other parts of the country.
The protest highlights growing dissatisfaction among workers over recent policy changes and reflects the larger unrest tied to the Bharat Bandh movement.
