
A Decade of Excellence: Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2025 announced
New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival Awards 2025 is set to celebrate a significant milestone, a decade of recognising and honouring excellence in Indian cinema.
The two-day event will take place in Mumbai on October 29 and 30.
Named after the Father of Indian Cinema, the late Shri Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival Awards have emerged as one of the most prestigious platforms celebrating the richness and diversity of Indian cinema.
Over the years, the event has united stars, filmmakers, government dignitaries, and industry veterans on a single stage, creating a vibrant confluence of talent and tradition.
Launched in 2015, the festival has grown to become one of the most respected platforms for filmmakers, actors, and technicians across the country.
The 2024 edition witnessed the presence of major Bollywood personalities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nayanthara, Rani Mukerji, and Shahid Kapoor, adding star power to the grand celebration.
Now in its 10th year, the 2025 edition promises to be even more spectacular, with high-energy performances and a special showcase highlighting cinematic stories from across India’s varied regional film industries.
The festival will also continue its much-acclaimed Global Short Film Festival, which draws participation from filmmakers across the globe, further cementing its reputation as a truly international celebration of cinema.
According to a release, DPIFF CEO Abhishek Mishra, while sharing insights into the upcoming event, said, “As we step into our 10th year, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards will celebrate the universal magic of cinema like never before. This edition will be a grand gathering where legends, emerging creators, and audiences come together to honour the stories that move the world.”
The two-day celebration will pay tribute to the rich legacy of Indian cinema while also highlighting its expanding impact on the global stage.
