Zero Night Security in Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police Deploy 15 Platoons for New Year’s Eve

With New Year’s Eve around the corner, the Commissionerate Police have rolled out strict security measures to ensure safe and orderly Zero Night celebrations across Bhubaneswar.

Police Commissioner Suresh Devdutt Singh reviewed the preparations and announced the deployment of 15 platoons of police throughout the city.

The force will focus on traffic management, surveillance systems, and rapid response teams to handle emergencies.

The fire brigade has already inspected key venues, while bar and restaurant owners have been instructed to implement comprehensive safety protocols.

Authorities have also issued directives to event organisers to strictly adhere to stipulated time limits.

Highlighting a zero‑tolerance approach, Singh warned that drunk driving will be dealt with firmly. Women’s safety has been prioritised, with officers instructed to monitor vulnerable areas closely.

The overall strategy combines vigilance, preventive checks, and community cooperation.

Officials expect the measures to protect revellers and maintain peace during one of Bhubaneswar’s busiest nights of the year.
