YouTuber Rahul Maharana Murder Case: Soldier Among 3 Arrested in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: A minor quarrel over abusive language spiralled into a fatal confrontation near JGGP School, leaving YouTuber Rahul Maharana dead and his friend Shiva critically injured.
The incident unfolded when Shatru, a soldier from Cuttack, objected to Shiva’s loud phone conversation. The argument escalated, and Rahul was stabbed multiple times while trying to protect Shiva.
Rahul was rushed to Capital Hospital but succumbed to chest injuries caused by heavy bleeding.
Shiva remains in critical condition. Police arrested three accused — Shatru, Kuna, and Muna — and seized two bikes along with the knife used in the attack.
The Odisha Human Rights Commission has received a petition demanding Rs 50 lakh compensation for Rahul’s family.
Locals allege police negligence in patrolling the JGGP Colony area, which has long been plagued by drunken gatherings and disturbances.
Rahul, who married actress Tisa just three months ago, leaves behind a grieving family.
Tisa has demanded justice and capital punishment for the accused.
The case has sparked outrage and renewed concerns about community safety and law enforcement vigilance.
