Yellow Alert Issued for 20 Odisha Districts Amid IMD Rain and Thunderstorm Warning

(OT Webdesk)The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 20 districts across Odisha, forecasting moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning through Friday.

Wind speeds are expected to reach 30–40 kmph, prompting authorities to urge caution, especially in lightning-prone and waterlogging-prone areas.

The alert spans both coastal and interior regions, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh.

In Bhubaneswar, the forecast indicates partly cloudy skies with chances of moderate rain or thundershowers.

Temperatures are expected to range between 27°C and 34°C.

The yellow alert remains in effect until 8:30 AM on August 2, 2025. Residents are advised to stay indoors during adverse weather and follow local advisories for safety.
