Woman Harassed at AG Square in Bhubaneswar | Accused Arrested
(OT Webdesk)In a disturbing incident that has reignited concerns over women’s safety in Odisha’s capital, a young woman was harassed and robbed near AG Square, Bhubaneswar, on Tuesday night.
The attack occurred around 8:30 PM as she walked alone from Forest Park.
According to her complaint filed at Capital Police Station, the accused—identified as Dillip Dalai—snatched her mobile phone and misbehaved with her.
Her cries for help drew the attention of nearby pedestrians, who intervened and helped her escape.
Police arrested Dalai the same night and registered a case. He is currently being interrogated and will be presented in court after initial procedures.
This incident comes just a day after a similar case in Puri, where three sisters were harassed and robbed near a bus parking zone.
The back-to-back cases have sparked public outrage and renewed calls for systemic reforms and community vigilance to ensure women’s safety in public spaces.
