
Woman Abducted from Bhadrak Highway Rescued After 72-Hour Search; Truck Driver Arrested
Bhadrak — In a disturbing incident on the eve of Vijaya Dashami, a mentally unstable woman was abducted from NH-16 near Charampa by a truck driver, triggering widespread concern and a swift police response.
The abduction, captured on video and circulated widely on social media, prompted immediate action from Bhadrak police.
Toll gates and truck associations were alerted, and surveillance footage helped track the suspect vehicle.
After a 72-hour search, the woman was located near Randia and rescued. She was immediately sent for medical examination and remains under observation.
The accused driver was arrested in Jhumpura, and the truck used in the crime was seized. Officials confirmed the arrest in a press briefing and assured the public of a continued investigation.
