Wedding Party in Odisha Turns Violent: Four Arrested

Subarnapur, Odisha – A wedding celebration turned violent on February 25 when a group of assailants attacked Rohit Pradhan near Chakamunda Chhak in Badamal village.

The attackers, armed with a sharp iron weapon and a metal pipe, attempted to kill him during the wedding journey of Bishwamitra Pradhan’s family.

Following a written complaint by Bishwamitra Pradhan, Charmal police registered Case No. 35/26 and swiftly launched an investigation.

Four suspects — Alok Kumar Sahu (36), Lipun Thapa (19), Pratap Dehuri, and Babulal Bagh (28) — were arrested in connection with the assault.

Police seized a Bolero vehicle, an iron cutter, a metal pipe, two mobile phones, and Rs12,970 in cash from the accused.

Sub Inspector Sanjay Kumar Pradhan confirmed the arrests and recovery, stating that strict legal action will be taken against those involved.

Authorities are probing the motive behind the attack, assuring that justice will be delivered.
