Vikas Manthan 1.0 Charts Roadmap for Climate-Resilient Odisha by 2036

Senior government officials and domain experts convened at the Lokseva Bhavan Convention Centre for the third session of Vikas Manthan 1.0, themed “Sujala Sufala & Shasya Shyamala Odisha.” The deliberations focused on building a prosperous, climate-resilient state through integrated efforts in agriculture, water conservation, and environmental protection.

Moderated by Professor Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra and co-moderated by Professor Sanatan Pradhan, the session featured presentations from top officials across Forest, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Water Resources departments.

They outlined initiatives in soil conservation, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy utilisation, aquaculture, and scientific animal husbandry.

The roadmaps align Odisha’s Vision 2036 with the national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047. Speakers emphasised that prosperity hinges on collective action to safeguard land, water, and forest resources, while urging urgent adoption of climate-resilient farming practices to counter shifting seasonal patterns caused by climate change.

The session concluded with a consensus that synergy among government departments, scientific institutions, and farmers is essential to realise the dream of a “Sujala Sufala & Shasya Shyamala Odisha” — a state where water is abundant, harvests are bountiful, and fields remain evergreen.
