V K Pandian hits out at BJP for disrespecting Odisha CM during election tour

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 16: During an election tour in Balangir district, Biju Janata Dal’s star campaigner V K Pandian launched a fierce critique against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing its leaders of consistently demeaning and disrespecting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Pandian highlighted incidents where the Chief Minister and BJD president were allegedly targeted, including an attempted shoe-throwing incident during the Bijepur Assembly by-election, which the BJP lost by over 45,000 votes due to public disapproval of such behavior.

Pandian also referenced instances where eggs were thrown at the CM in Puri, resulting in the BJP losing all 30 zilla parishad elections. He condemned Chhattisgarh ministers’ visits to Odisha for election campaigning, criticizing them for using derogatory language against the CM.

Asserting that the people of Odisha will respond fittingly to the verbal attacks on Naveen Patnaik, Pandian expressed confidence that the BJD will return to power with overwhelming support from the electorate. He urged voters to decisively counter such behavior in the ongoing elections.

Speaking at poll rallies in Titilagarh and other locations, Pandian lambasted the BJP for disrespecting the CM, who he emphasized stands firmly with the people of Odisha. He called on voters to deliver a strong response to such conduct on the upcoming polling day on May 20.
