Urban Renaissance Accelerates: Odisha Deepens Ties with ADB for Smarter Cities
In a strategic push toward future-ready urban transformation, the Odisha Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department convened a high-level meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to explore deeper collaboration in infrastructure, mobility, and resilient city planning.
Chaired by Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, the discussion emphasized the formation of joint committees to enhance project monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and integrated execution. The goal: faster, smarter, and more transparent urban development across the state.
ADB delegates Sougat Dasgupta and Abhisek Mukherjee reaffirmed the bank’s long-term commitment to Odisha, pledging technical and financial support not only for urban mobility but also for commerce and transport—key pillars of inclusive growth.
Padhee underscored the state’s vision of building people-centric, sustainable cities through innovation-driven governance and integrated planning. Special Secretary Rajesh Pravakar Patil also participated, reinforcing the department’s focus on quality-of-life improvements across urban Odisha.
This renewed partnership signals a pivotal moment in Odisha’s urban renaissance, aligning global expertise with local ambition.
