Unity in Motion: Barbil Police Leads Grand Rally Honoring Sardar Patel on National Unity Day
Barbil, October 31, 2025: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, Barbil city witnessed a vibrant celebration of National Unity Day.
Under the directive of Keonjhar Superintendent of Police, Barbil Police organised a grand unity rally and a series of awareness programs that infused the city with patriotic fervour and collective spirit.
The day began with a walkathon from the SDPO office, transforming into a spirited unity rally that coursed through the city’s main roads and culminated at Vikas Mahal.
The rally saw enthusiastic participation from Tehsildar Rakesh Kumar Panda, SDPO Devendra Nath Pingua, IIC Ashok Kumar Nayak, police personnel, students, and respected citizens.
Chanting slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Unity is Strength,” participants carried banners and placards promoting harmony and brotherhood.

In the lead-up to the rally, Barbil Police had conducted debate competitions and cyber awareness sessions across Jindal School, Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Barbil College, and ITI Barbil.
The debate topic — “Sardar Patel’s vision as the foundation of India’s unity” — inspired students to express their views in Hindi and Odia. Cyber safety tips and responsible social media usage were also shared.
At Vikas Mahal, winners of the competitions were felicitated in the presence of SDPO Pingua, IIC Nayak, and Dr Saubhagya Rashmi Ranjan Samal from Barbil Government Hospital.
Addressing the gathering, SDPO Pingua remarked, “Sardar Patel’s life teaches us that unity and discipline are the true strength of a nation. We must remain vigilant and contribute to preserving national integrity.”
The event not only honoured Patel’s legacy but also reignited civic responsibility and unity among Barbil’s citizens.
Police officials urged continued public participation in such initiatives to strengthen the fabric of national integration.
