Jayant Chaudhary Odisha visit

Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary to Unveil Maritime School and Charan Singh Archives During Odisha Visit on Oct 6

Bhubaneswar, October 4, 2025 – In a significant boost to skill development and educational initiatives in Odisha, Union Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, is set to visit the state on October 6, 2025.

The one-day program, revealed by Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Odisha State President Jitendra Kumar Hati, underscores the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and honours the legacy of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.

Chaudhary, who also serves as the National President of RLD, will arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 11:00 AM. His itinerary kicks off with a poignant tribute, paying floral respects at the statue of Biju Patnaik, the iconic former Chief Minister of Odisha, located at Airport Goal Chowk.

By noon, the minister will head to Centurion University for the inauguration of the “Maritime School,” a specialised institution aimed at fostering maritime education and training. This event is expected to highlight innovative programs tailored to Odisha’s coastal economy and blue economy prospects. Following the inauguration, Chaudhary will hold a press briefing at 1:30 PM to interact with media and stakeholders on the school’s role in skill-building.

The afternoon agenda features a key ceremonial highlight at 3:00 PM: the inauguration of the “Archives in Memory of Chaudhary Charan Singh” at the Mayfair Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar. Dedicated to the life, vision, and enduring contributions of India’s fifth Prime Minister—who championed farmers’ rights and rural development—this archive will serve as a repository of historical documents, artefacts, and educational resources. The event is poised to inspire a renewed focus on Charan Singh’s ideals of social justice and economic self-reliance.

Capping off the visit, Chaudhary will address the Skill Development Conference organised by NEWS ROOM in collaboration with leading educational and training institutions. His speech will emphasise the Government of India’s flagship initiatives under the Skill India Mission, equipping Odisha’s youth with future-ready skills in emerging sectors like technology, maritime, and entrepreneurship. The conference aligns with national efforts to bridge the employability gap and promote inclusive growth.

The minister is scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar Airport at 6:00 PM, concluding a packed day of engagements that blend homage, innovation, and policy discourse.

“This visit is a milestone in advancing the vision of late Chaudhary Charan Singh while accelerating skill development in Odisha,” stated Hati in the press release. “Under Shri Jayant Chaudhary’s leadership, we are committed to empowering the next generation with tools for sustainable success.”

The tour is anticipated to draw participation from state officials, educators, industry leaders, and RLD supporters, reinforcing ties between the central government and Odisha’s developmental ecosystem. Further details on public access to events will be shared closer to the date.
