Union Cooperative Secretary Applauds OMFED’s Dairy Growth in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Dr Ashish Kumar, Secretary of the Union Ministry of Cooperation, visited the OMFED headquarters in Bhubaneswar and praised the federation’s modern operations and quality dairy products.
During a high-level meeting with officials from central and state cooperative departments, OMFED management, and livestock representatives, Managing Director Vijay Amruta Kulange presented updates on product development, milk collection, processing, and ongoing projects.
Dr Kumar highlighted the success of the Chief Minister’s Kamadhenu Yojana, noting that milk production in Odisha has risen significantly since its launch.
He assured central assistance for further growth and approved the formation of new cooperative societies under the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD).
Emphasising farmer welfare, Dr Kumar stressed that government schemes must directly benefit producers and urged measures to ensure accessibility.
The meeting underscored OMFED’s role in strengthening Odisha’s dairy sector and delivering healthier products to consumers.
