Two Wanted Criminals Injured in Police Encounter in Odisha’s Cuttack

In a late-night operation, Odisha police apprehended two notorious criminals, Katas Raut and Shubhranshu Parida, in the Indranipatna area of Choudwar, Cuttack.


Both individuals sustained injuries during a police encounter after they allegedly opened fire at the authorities attempting to arrest them.

The duo has a long history of violent crimes, with Katas linked to 15 cases and Shubhranshu to over 50, including extortion and armed robbery.

Following the shootout, they were taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.

Weapons and live ammunition were recovered from the scene, marking this operation as a critical step in the state’s crackdown on criminal networks.

Investigations into their activities and connections are ongoing, as the police work to dismantle organised crime in Odisha.
