Bhubaneswar, June 19(OT Webdesk): After a harrowing accident near the Teesta River in Sikkim, two young boys from Odisha—16-year-old Swayam Supreet Nayak and 17-year-old Sairaj Jena—have been brought back safely to Bhubaneswar for advanced medical care.
The duo, who had been initially treated at a local hospital in Sikkim, arrived at Bhubaneswar Railway Station and were immediately transferred via special ambulance to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Their arrival was overseen by local MLA Akash Das Nayak and senior officials from the Odisha Transport Department.
The tragic incident has left four others from Odisha missing.
In response, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Commerce & Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena acted swiftly, deploying two senior transport officials to Sikkim for on-site coordination.
The Odisha government remained in constant communication with Sikkim authorities to facilitate search, rescue, and medical arrangements.
Efforts now shift toward the full recovery of the rescued teens, while the search continues for the missing.
