A heartbreaking incident has shaken the community of Basudevpur in Bhadrak district, where two minor sisters drowned in a pond on April 24, 2025.
The tragedy occurred in the Sanakrishnapur Malik Sahi area under the jurisdiction of the Kashia Samudrik police station.
According to reports, the sisters were near the pond when the accident happened. Despite efforts to save them, they were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Local authorities have expressed their condolences and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the drowning.
