Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 14: In two separate incidents, a school headmaster and another government employee lost their lives in road accidents while returning from election duty in Odisha’s Malkangiri and Nuapada districts.
The headmaster of a school in Bandhaguda, under Khairput Mudulipada panchayat, Indrajit Kirsani, was deployed as the presiding officer at Sikhapali Kushabeda school during the first phase of polling on Monday. Unfortunately, while returning after completing his poll-related responsibilities on Tuesday morning, Indrajit was involved in a collision between his motorcycle and a bus. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the accident site.
Similarly, in Nuapada, another government employee, Prasanna Kumar Nayak, met with a fatal accident near the Tarboda area while heading home in the morning after completing poll duty. Prasanna, who was engaged as the presiding officer at a polling station in Ranimunda, lost his life after being struck by a car.
