Torch Rally in Barbil Against Bangladesh Massacre Sparks Public Outrage

Barbil, Kendujhar — In a powerful display of anger and solidarity, hundreds of residents of Barbil gathered on Monday evening to protest against the recent massacre in Bangladesh.

The rally began at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk in Punjabi Pada, where citizens assembled carrying torches to symbolise their demand for justice.

The march proceeded through Old Bus Stand, Bata Chowk, and Main Road, with participants chanting slogans and voicing condemnation of the violence.

The rally culminated at Atal Chowk, where demonstrators staged a symbolic act of protest.

During the procession, a large effigy of Bangladesh’s leader Muhammad Yunus was paraded through the streets adorned with a garland of shoes — a traditional gesture of disdain. The effigy was later set ablaze near Atal Chowk, drawing loud chants from the crowd.

Voices from the Rally
– Local youth described the march as a call for international attention: “We want the world to recognise the atrocities and stand with the victims.”
– Senior citizens emphasised that silence in the face of such violence is unacceptable, urging global human rights organisations to intervene.

Organizational Role
The rally was coordinated by Hindu Ekta Manch and other local groups, who highlighted that the protest was not just symbolic but part of a larger movement to demand accountability.

Organisers warned that if justice is not delivered, the agitation could intensify in the coming days.

Message to the World
The torch rally in Barbil reflected the collective outrage of the community, sending a strong message that crimes against humanity cannot be ignored.

Citizens vowed to continue raising their voices until justice is ensured for the victims of the Bangladesh massacre.
