Three posing as tenants rob elderly couple in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), Oct 21: Three robbers posing as tenants took advantage of their landlord’s trust and committed a robbery in the Chandbali area of Odisha’s Bhadrak district. The incident occurred on Sunday night, just two days after the men had rented a room in the home of Jaydev Rout.
The trio had claimed to be security guards working the night shift on the Bhadrak-Dhamra railway line, stating they needed a place to rest during the day. On the night of the robbery, they knocked on the door, and when Jaydev’s wife opened it, they threatened the elderly couple with a knife, demanding cash and jewelry.
In fear for their safety, Jaydev and his wife, Sajani, surrendered ornaments and valuables worth lakhs of rupees. The robbers quickly fled the scene on a motorcycle. The couple reported the crime to the police, prompting an immediate investigation. A police team visited their home on Monday to gather evidence and initiate efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects.
