Thamma Roars Past Rs 100 Crore Worldwide, Surpasses Bhediya in Just 5 Days
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror-comedy Thamma has stormed past the Rs 100 crore mark globally, collecting Rs 110 crore within just five days of release.
The film has now outperformed Bhediya’s lifetime earnings of Rs 95 crore, becoming the fourth Maddock Films horror-comedy to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club.
After a strong Diwali opening of Rs 24 crore net, Thamma saw minor weekday dips but rebounded sharply on Saturday with a 30% jump, earning Rs 13 crore on Day 5.
India total now stands at Rs 78.60 crore net (Rs 94.25 crore gross), with trade analysts predicting another surge on Sunday.
Internationally, the film gained momentum over the weekend despite a slower start, raking in nearly $2 million overseas. This brings its worldwide total to Rs 110 crore, signalling strong global appeal.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma follows a journalist (Khurrana) caught in a supernatural feud between two vampires, played by Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film also features cameos from Varun Dhawan and other characters from the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), further expanding the franchise’s reach.
Critics have praised Thamma for its unique blend of humor, horror, and emotional depth, while audiences continue to fuel its momentum through positive word-of-mouth. With Munjya’s Rs 132 crore benchmark in sight, Thamma is poised to climb even higher in the coming days.
