Temperature Relief Across Odisha: Thunderstorms Bring Cooler Days Ahead

Odisha Weather Update

Bhubaneswar (OT Webdesk): Odisha residents can look forward to a much-needed respite from the sweltering heat as temperatures are expected to hover around 35°C in the coming days.

The influence of Kalbaishakhi, a seasonal thunderstorm, has significantly impacted weather patterns, offering cooler conditions for both coastal and western Odisha.

Western Odisha, which has been enduring extreme heat, will find relief as temperatures drop below 35°C. Coastal areas will also experience milder weather, with temperatures ranging from 32°C to 35°C. However, after May 3, a brief surge in daytime temperatures, rising by 2–4°C, is anticipated, reinstating the summer heat.

Jajpur District’s Binjharpur emerged as the region with the highest rainfall, recording 82 mm within the last 24 hours. Other notable areas included Kendrapara with 57 mm, Nuapada with 53 mm, Bhadrak with 43 mm, and Cuttack with 42 mm of rainfall.

Meteorologists predict that this temporary relief will soon give way to warmer days, as the summer intensity makes a return post-May 3.
